Out and About: El Indio
–by Melina Jimenez
Have you ever heard of taco Tuesdays? Well, my favorite place for tacos is El Indio! There are two locations in Gainesville and they’re both great! One of the locations is on 13th Street close to campus. My favorite order is a fajita burrito and fries. It’s A LOT of food, but it’s also the most delicious thing you could eat in Gainesville. If you’re feeling adventurous, you should also try horchata, which is a sweet rice milk beverage drink .

Time Change: Daylight Savings Time in the US ends on November 1, 2020. That means we should all set the clocks back one hour. For example, on Sunday at 2:00am, you would change the clock to 1:00am. Most US cell phones will do the change automatically. Remember to check other clocks in your house. If you are in your home country, you will need to remember the time change for class, starting Monday, November 2, 2020.
International Education Week: The ELI would like to feature your country on our YouTube page for International Education Week in November. We need your expert help. Email Christine Voigt (christinevoigt@ufl.edu) if you would like to make a video to represent your country.
ELI Spring Classes 2021: You may have heard that UF will be offering in-person classes beginning with the Spring 2021 semester. The ELI will do the same thing as UF. Beginning with the Spring C 2021 semester, all ELI core classes for F-1 students will be offered in-person on campus. Online sections of classes may also be available, depending on new regulations from the US government. We will give more information about the Spring C 2021 semester in November.
