Academic Writing Support for International Graduate Students
Scholarly Writing is a non-credit, six-week course for international graduate students, Post-docs, and Visiting Scholars currently enrolled in or working at University of Florida. The course offers an in-depth examination of common academic genres and practice within these genres.
International Teaching Assistant Support (SPEAK & EAP 5836)
EAP 5836 is a credit-bearing class that offers language and culture support for international teaching assistants (ITAs) in their first semester of teaching at UF. The course is required for ITAs who scored 23-27 on the TOEFL iBT speaking, 7-8 on the IELTS Academic speaking, or 45-50 on the SPEAK.
SPEAK is an English language proficiency test. The ELI will offer the SPEAK when TOEFL iBT or IELTS scores are not available or current.
