In addition to the regular Intensive English Program available throughout the year at specific times, the English Language Institute offers highly flexible programs for participants between semesters. Availability of these programs is based upon availability of faculty at the ELI.
ELI pop-up classes are classes with no levels, no homework, and no grades. They are classes created to help build specific English skills during UF break weeks. Class content is designed around the needs of the students registered for the class that week.
August 2024 the ELI will offer:

Students can register for one class, or both.
Students can register for one week, or two weeks.
The cost for one week of one class (6 class hours) is $150 and the cost for two weeks of one class (12 class hours) is $300.

The deadline to register is Thursday, August 8th. The deadline to formally withdraw from the course and receive a full refund is 4pm August 13th for the first week and 4pm August 20th for the second week.
Pop-up classes are open to UF students and scholars, and members of the Gainesville community who can demonstrate proof of completing secondary school (high school).
Pop-up classes are not part of the ELI Intensive English Program and do not count as a program of study or full-time enrollment for F1 students.
