Out and About: Photo Shoot opportunity to take photos

–by Daniel Mata ElKhoury

I’m the type of guy that never had enough time to do the thing I always wanted to do, and that’s photography, but now during the quarantine, I have time.

Taking photos outside helps me to relax and enjoy the beauty of the environment. I like to take photos of the environment: sunsets, beautiful landscapes outside views or just something that caught my attention. I take my bike and my camera and go out to take some good photos. Photography really helped me during quarantine. I encourage you to find your hobby or give it some time and try to develop it.

ELI Spring Classes 2021:

You may have heard that UF will be offering in-person classes beginning with the Spring 2021 semester.  The ELI will do the same thing as UF.  Beginning with the Spring C 2021 semester, all ELI core classes for F-1 students will be offered in-person on campus.  Online sections of classes may also be available, depending on new regulations from the US government. We will give more information about the Spring C 2021 semester in November.

New ELI Classes for B Term

INTERNATIONAL TOEFL (internet based test- iBT)

  • October 26 -December 11
  • Cost:  $665

This class is for students who place into high-intermediate or higher reading and writing classes.  The course meets after core courses, 5 hours a week synchronously via Zoom.  The purpose of this class is for students to become familiar with the design of the TOEFL iBT.  The course will identify language points that are most commonly tested in the reading, listening, speaking, and writing sections of the test.  Exercises will be similar in format to those on the TOEFL iBT and practice tests will be given periodically.

This course is meant to familiarize students with the test format, but all our ELI classes help with level and language ability, which also prepares you for the TOEFL exam.

STEP Online Classes: The ELI offers short-term English classes online. Look at this great list of online classes and tell your friends and family about them! Please contact StudyEnglish@eli.ufl.edu for application information or visit https://eli.ufl.edu/programs/step-online/
