The University of Florida English Language Institute offers intensive English programs that prepare students for using English in the real world. Our methods of instruction are based on current research in the fields of language teaching, acquisition, learning and assessment, and the more than 60 years of experience we have had teaching English to international students at the University of Florida. Our faculty and staff are committed to excellence in providing quality service and education. The ELI main office is open for student check-in and document pick-up and drop-off from 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. You can schedule a remote advising session by calling 352-392-2070 between 8:00am and 4:30pm EST, or by emailing StudyEnglish@eli.ufl.edu.
All students, faculty and staff must complete UF COVID-19 online screening: https://uf.tfaforms.net/440 and be cleared before coming to campus. Contact Victoria Dolce at vcshelly@ufl.edu for more information.
In Spring 2021, all class hours (23 per week) will be offered in-person for new F1 students. Online and remote options are available for continuing F1 students. All other students, contact Daryl Bish at StudyEnglish@eli.ufl.edu.
All students intending to study in-person must complete an online COVID-19 screening and be cleared to come to campus prior to starting classes. The UF ELI will follow all national, state, local and UF guidance during the Coronavirus pandemic and reserves the right to change course delivery mode based upon this guidance, while meeting US government requirements for F-1 students.
