In addition to the regular, academic Intensive English Program, available throughout the year at specific times, the English Language Institute offers highly flexible special programs for groups of five (5) or more participants at times that they find convenient. The ELI Special Programs are constructed according to needs expressed by universities or agencies organizing groups. These programs follow academically strict but highly flexible guidelines established by the Institute. (Please see Special Programs for in-person, customizable programs.)
Availability of the STEP Online program is based upon availability of faculty at the ELI.
- For customizable, on-demand Short Term English Programs Online, your group can choose from the courses listed below, or request customized content. Minimum enrollment is 5 participants for 6 weeks. The minimum fee is $600 per participant.

Important information about admissions and technology
Admission to in-person and STEP Online special programs is not the same as admission to a UF degree program or the Intensive English Program. Please contact Lia Brenneman lia@ufl.edu .
In order to benefit from STEP Online Special Program classes, students should have adequate access to the internet and technology. ELI faculty may use a variety of online learning platforms that do not work with a smart phone. As such, you should plan to take the classes from a desktop or laptop computer. All STEP Online classes will be taught via Zoom on the first day of classes.
