The ELI Weekly

Gators on Campus

ELI students at the Gator Ubiquity sculpture

Gator Ubiquity is the name of the sculpture between Matherly and Bryan Halls. It depicts an alligator on top of the Earth. The sculpture is eight feet tall and 6 feet wide. It is made of bronze and weighs about 1,500 lbs. It symbolizes the impact and relationships of UF Gators all over the world, and now you are part of this group! Gator Ubiquity is not the only gator art on campus. As you explore campus, see if you can find gator statues, sculptures, and other gator artwork. There are also real gators on campus that are visible close to or in the ponds on campus. The little pond just outside the Reitz Union is one place you can see alligators.
