Bio
Teaching languages to English language learners has been a lifelong journey for Patricia Moon. Early formative experiences cultivated a love for languages and a passion to help others learn English. While in university pursuing her Bachelor’s degree, she had many friends who were either recent immigrants or international students. Patricia enjoyed studying other languages and discovered that learning about them and helping others to learn English was symbiotic and pursued a degree in Linguistics focusing on TESL and Phonology. While studying her Master’s degree, Patricia began work at the English Language Institute as an interaction leader (language assistant) and met students from throughout the world. She continued to work at the ELI and has served as an instructor, skills coordinator, academic coordinator, and currently, as the Associate Director. She continues to dabble in language study, and enjoys painting, reading, birding, walking, and spending time with her dogs and husband in her free time.
